What are Dental Bridges?A dental bridge is a form of restorative dentistry used to replace missing teeth. This dental prosthesis "bridges" the gap where teeth are absent. A bridge consists of two or more specially fitted crowns, known as abutment teeth, on either side of the gap, and a false tooth or teeth (known as pontics) in between. The abutment teeth serve as anchors for the bridge while the pontics replace the missing teeth. The pontics can be made from a range of materials, including gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials.
